The four candles...

In a dark room there were four lit candles…

The illumination was weak but it still filled the room.

The candles burned and were consumed slowly.

The room was so quite that one could hear their conversation.

The first started to talk and said to the others…”I’m peace. But human beings fail to maintain peace; so nothing is left for me to do but to extinguish myself!”

And so it did…

Little by little the candle left its flame goes out completely.

After a few moments, the second candle said,” I’m faith, but unfortunately, there is no need for me. Human beings do not want to have anything to do with me. And for this reason it makes no sense that I remain alight…”

The candle stopped speaking and after, a few moments…A light breeze blew on the candle and puts its flame out.

With profound sadness, the third candle said, “I’m Love, but I do not have strength to continue burning. Human beings do not recognize my value. And they do not understand my importance. They even hate those who love them the most, their family!”

And without waiting any longer, the candle left itself out.

Unexpectedly, they heard footsteps approaching the door…

A young boy entered the room and saw there three extinguished candles…

Frightened by the semi darkness he said: “What are you doing? You must stay lit! I am afraid of the dark!”

And after saying this, he burst into tears.

Then the fourth candle begin to speak and said,” Do not fear! Don’t cry!”

"As long as I am still burning we can always light the other three candles again…I am Hope!”

With shining eyes with filled tears the young boy picked up the candle of hope…And relit the other three candles.

Rise by lifting others...

An old man saw a scorpion drowning and decided to pull it from the water. He calmly extended his hand to reach the creature. When he did, the scorpion stung him. With the effect of pain, the old man let go of the creature, and it fell back into the water. The old man realizing that the scorpion was drowning again, he got back and tried to rescue it but then still it stung him. He let go of it again. A young boy standing by, approached the old man and asked, “Excuse me sir, you are going to hurt yourself trying to save the evil – vicious creature, why do you insist? Don’t you realize that each time you try to help the scorpion, it stings you?” The old man replied, “Look son! The nature of scorpion is to sting and mine is to help. My nature will not change in helping the scorpion.” So the old man thought for a while and used a leaf from a nearby tree and pulled the scorpion out from the water and saved its life. Do not change your nature. I...

Fly High...

A crow holding a piece of meat in his beak was flying in the sky looking for a place to seat and eat it. Suddenly he saw a flock of eagles chasing him. Anxious to save his life the crow started flying higher and higher. Yet the eagles wouldn’t let go and kept chasing him. Seeing the plight of the crow, a bird a wise old owl sitting on a tall tree asked him, “What’s wrong with you my friend? You look very disturbed and why are you flying in such a state of panic?” The crow replied, “Look at these eagles! They are after my life. They want to kill me.” The wise owl said, “They are not after to kill you dear. All they want the piece of meat you are holding in your beak. Just drop it and see a magic.” The crow followed the advice of the owl. All the eagles flew towards the falling piece of meat and the crow could now fly higher. Isn’t this is true in our life as well? We hold on to the piece of meat. That money which is not ours and are always at...

GOD has its own plan...

When Mr. Clark a Scottish farmer heard that the luxury cruise liner Titanic was to make its very first voyage. Its maiden voyage from the United Kingdom to United States of America. He had a dream to be on the ship with his wife and his five children’s. He practically spent most of his life’s savings to buy tickets for his entire family; non – refundable tickets guess what? Just a week before the Titanic made its way to America, one of Mr. Clark’s son was bitten by a dog. The doctor recommended that the boy be quarantined for his own safety and for the others around him. Mrs Clark suggested that he and the other children actually make their way on the trip. But Mr. Clark’s conscience didn’t allow him to leave his fife and his ill son behind. Wednesday 10 th April 1912, as the Titanic sailed forth from the Southampton port in Hampshire, England, Mr. Clark stood there crying tears of disappointment and frustration. All his money was gone and none of the...
