Stay Focused...!!

In a certain company an employee went to the Senior Manager and said, “I can’t work here any longer, I want to quit this job.”

The Manager asked “Why? Please tell me what happened?”

“The whole atmosphere is toxic to my mind.” Replied the young man.

There are people here who are into a lot of politics and there are those who talk negative all the time.
Some spend most of their time gossiping than working.I didn’t think I can handle this any longer.

The Manager said,”OK but I have a request to make before you leave.”

The man asked,” Please tell me what can I do for you, sir?”

The Manager said, “I want you to do this one last thing sincerely.”

"I want you take a glass of water filled to the brim and walk around the office area three times without spilling a single drop of water on the floor. After that you may leave the job if you wish.”

Though it sounded weird the man thought it was just a matter of few minutes anyways.

He took a glass full of water and walked 3 times around the office floor. He then came to HR head to tell him that he was done.

The Manager asked, “When you were walking around the floor did you see any employee speaking badly about another employee, any gossips, any disturbances?”

The man replied, “No”

The Manager further asked, “Did you see any employee looking at another employee in a wrong way?”

The man replied, “No”

“And you know why?” asked the Manager.
“Because you were focused on the glass to make sure you didn’t tip over and spill any water.”

And the same goes with our life.

When we focus on our priorities we don’t have the time to see all the chaos around us, the mistakes of others, gossip, politics, negativity etc.”

The fact is anywhere we go we are going to find toxic people.

Change of job or change of situation doesn’t ensure freedom from such people.

We should certainly do what we can to positively change things around us.

But when we know that we have done our best and things still remain more or less the same. We should shift our focus to our priorities, our growth, our excellence and then we won’t be as much affected by the negativity around us.

Rise by lifting others...

An old man saw a scorpion drowning and decided to pull it from the water. He calmly extended his hand to reach the creature. When he did, the scorpion stung him. With the effect of pain, the old man let go of the creature, and it fell back into the water. The old man realizing that the scorpion was drowning again, he got back and tried to rescue it but then still it stung him. He let go of it again. A young boy standing by, approached the old man and asked, “Excuse me sir, you are going to hurt yourself trying to save the evil – vicious creature, why do you insist? Don’t you realize that each time you try to help the scorpion, it stings you?” The old man replied, “Look son! The nature of scorpion is to sting and mine is to help. My nature will not change in helping the scorpion.” So the old man thought for a while and used a leaf from a nearby tree and pulled the scorpion out from the water and saved its life. Do not change your nature. I...

Fly High...

A crow holding a piece of meat in his beak was flying in the sky looking for a place to seat and eat it. Suddenly he saw a flock of eagles chasing him. Anxious to save his life the crow started flying higher and higher. Yet the eagles wouldn’t let go and kept chasing him. Seeing the plight of the crow, a bird a wise old owl sitting on a tall tree asked him, “What’s wrong with you my friend? You look very disturbed and why are you flying in such a state of panic?” The crow replied, “Look at these eagles! They are after my life. They want to kill me.” The wise owl said, “They are not after to kill you dear. All they want the piece of meat you are holding in your beak. Just drop it and see a magic.” The crow followed the advice of the owl. All the eagles flew towards the falling piece of meat and the crow could now fly higher. Isn’t this is true in our life as well? We hold on to the piece of meat. That money which is not ours and are always at...

GOD has its own plan...

When Mr. Clark a Scottish farmer heard that the luxury cruise liner Titanic was to make its very first voyage. Its maiden voyage from the United Kingdom to United States of America. He had a dream to be on the ship with his wife and his five children’s. He practically spent most of his life’s savings to buy tickets for his entire family; non – refundable tickets guess what? Just a week before the Titanic made its way to America, one of Mr. Clark’s son was bitten by a dog. The doctor recommended that the boy be quarantined for his own safety and for the others around him. Mrs Clark suggested that he and the other children actually make their way on the trip. But Mr. Clark’s conscience didn’t allow him to leave his fife and his ill son behind. Wednesday 10 th April 1912, as the Titanic sailed forth from the Southampton port in Hampshire, England, Mr. Clark stood there crying tears of disappointment and frustration. All his money was gone and none of the...
